A demonstrator was rushed to the Ramos Mejía hospital after decompensating when he was arrested during a protest for the constitutional reform in Jujuy that was taking place at the Obelisk. In addition, three other people are detained.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, when a group of leftist protesters wanted to set fire to an urn. The City Police intervened, arresting four people. One of them, a man between 40 and 45 years old, broke down. They did CPR and a SAME ambulance took him to Ramos Mejía Hospital.
From the City Police assured that the demonstrators "assaulted" the security personnel. For her part, the presidential candidate for the New MAS, Manuela Castañeira, spoke of "repression".
"We repudiate the repression that is currently taking place in the Obelisk on the occasion of a mobilization in defense of the people of Jujuy. We hold the police accountable for the integrity and safety of protesters. We unconditionally defend the right to protest!" said Castañeira.
The call had been launched by the organizations Votamos Lucha and Rebelión Popular. The act was to protest against what they called "electoral farce and for the democracy of the people," in reference to the situation in Jujuy.
