Highlights: Yerka is a brand focused on turning bikes into an object impossible to steal. It has a patented locking technology that turns the lower tube of the vehicle into a padlock. If someone wants to steal it, they will think twice because to do so they will have to break the bicycle itself. The grip of the spout has a width of 17.7 centimeters. It has a special technology to 'deter' criminals.

In the last hours, a video of what has been trying to be the safest bicycle in the world for years went viral on Twitter: the Yerka.

Yerka is a brand focused on turning bikes into an object impossible to steal. The company boasts of having created the "only bicycle with integrated locking deterrent of theft". Their idea is to discourage criminals as much as possible.

The most striking and, a priori, efficient element of its anti-theft strategy is the patented locking technology that turns the lower tube of the vehicle into a padlock. If someone wants to steal it, they will think twice because to do so they will have to break the bicycle itself. The grip of the spout has a width of 17.7 centimeters.

In case of deciding to destroy the lock, the thief will not be able to drive the vehicle because the pedals are locked when the bicycle is locked. And, if you want to steal the wheels, it will not be so easy either, since they have a special adapter that is very difficult to force.

Finally, if they break it and want to fix it to sell it (or use it) you must get spare parts and these are only available in Yerka and the company only sells them if you show the purchase ticket of the bike.

About the recent V4 model, the brand says it has an anti-theft effectiveness rate of 99%. For that version, Yerka teamed up with the nearly century-old German security object company Abus to integrate plates into its padlock technology.

This is what the Yerka V4 looks like, the latest model of the brand.

How much does it cost? Around 600 dollars (499,000 Chilean pesos).

The padlock of the Yerka is included.

The bicycle without wheels

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Sergei Gordieiev did it again. The Ukrainian engineer who delights on YouTube with his rare bikes created a definitive design: the bike without wheels.

In the video - which to this day was seen by more than 13 million people - Gordieiev is seen designing the strange bicycle and then riding with it to check that it works.

"This bike has no wheels at all. Why did we do it? Just for fun," the description reads.

The uselessness and deafening noise of the vehicle were the points most criticized by commentators. However, the messages that predominate in the videos of "The Q" (Gordieiev's channel) are those that highlight the originality and commitment of the engineer.

"Finally, someone has created a mode of transportation that is as fast as walking with 10 times more effort," one user wrote.

Another added: "This guy woke up with the mentality of 'I'm going to spend all day building something useless' and just moved on. What a legend."
