The robbery sequence lasted just 20 seconds and for Juan Carlos Cruz (52) it was lethal: the surgeon was shot in the head at point-blank range. While investigators try to find three suspects who participated in the crime, the autopsy determined that he was killed "by a single shot at very close range."
Sources consulted by Clarín confirmed that the surgeon received a shot that entered through the "right parietal and exited through the left occipital region," that is, he entered from front to back, directly in the head.
It is that the remains of gunpowder allowed to establish, at least in the preliminary report of the autopsy, that it was carried out with the cannon resting on the head.
The investigators seek, at this time, to identify three suspects who would have been filmed walking through the square of the Aeronautical Museum, about 700 meters from the victim's home, where they finally killed him.
Juan Carlos Cruz, surgeon, was killed in Morón by a shot to the head
The sequence of the crime, although without details, allowed to establish that the event lasted only 20 seconds between when the criminals approached Juan Carlos Cruz and finally escaped with the victim's red Fiat Cronos.
Cruz was, at the time of the robbery, keeping some things in the trunk when he was cornered by the three assailants. A security camera managed to capture the moment in which he was approached, but the moment of the shot was hidden behind a parked motorhome.
The prosecutor of the case, Matías Rapazzo, was waiting for these hours to receive the statements of the neighbors and witnesses that allow him to reconstruct what happened in those seconds, although there is no direct witness to the crime. That is why it is not clear if the criminals struggled with the doctor, if the shot could have escaped them while threatening him or if they went straight to riddle him.
The truth is that the assailants escaped in the red Cronos, with the trunk open, and left the injured victim on the ground.
While the neighbors waited for the SAME to attend the doctor, the police found the car abandoned on the corner of Olegario Víctor Andrade and Coronel Aguirre, in the town of Rafael Castillo, about 30 blocks away.
The experts concentrate on the vehicle to try to find traces or clues that allow identifying the assailants and determining their identity to find the suspects.
