Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sarah are expected to stay at the Ramot resort next week, and security forces are preparing for their arrival in and around the resort. Many residents of Moshav Ramot fear damage to the tourism and agriculture sectors. Today (Friday), fences were deployed in the open areas near the resort. The residents' main concern stems from the checkpoints erected last week at the entrances to Moshav Neve Ativ, also in the Golan Heights.
Sivan Gonen from Ramot said that most of Ramot's residents make their living from agriculture and tourism. "These days we are picking mangoes, which is our main crop," she explained, "We wait for this harvest all year round, and we also have several packing houses. Any postponement of harvesting, especially in this heat, can cause serious damage." Gonen also noted that now the guest rooms operating in the moshav are also full, and there is concern that the heavy security arrangements will harm the song of life and cause vacationers a nuisance.

The farmers of the communities in the area also bring the crops to the packing houses in Ramot, and they too are afraid of what is expected. Dr. Yigal Kipnis from Ma'ale Gamla said: "Every next week I pick from the orchards adjacent to the resort, and the mangoes have to be brought to the packing house next to the resort."
Yaakov Eshkol from Moshav Ramot added, "There is much that is hidden about what is revealed. We don't know yet what to expect next week. There is a grave concern that tourism and agriculture will be harmed, these are the two legs on which Moshav Ramot stands. Based on what happened in Neve Ativ, we have good reasons to be concerned, but we hope that the police have learned lessons and that we will not be harmed. A large protest is certainly also expected, and we certainly understand the demonstrators. The prime minister can in a flash end this crisis, announce that the coup is being stopped and that legislation is being passed with broad consensus." It should be noted that unlike the hotel where the Netanyahu couple stayed in Neve Ativ, the Ramot holiday village is not located inside the moshav.
