The business landscape in the Würm Valley has changed dramatically in recent decades – seniors all agreed on that at a meeting. Many familiar shops have passed into other hands, such as Winter in Gräfelfing and Schmidbartel in Krailling, others have disappeared altogether. The bakeries Keller and Stoßberger-Geiger or the Krämerei Kögel, later Roth, in Krailling are history, the former dairy shop Schopf recently fell victim to demolition.

Krailling - The butcher's shop at the Alter Wirt Eggenhofer – Scherm – Mittermüller has given way to a dentist. She often changed her name, as daughters always continued to run her, but remained in the family for a long time. Stationery Walk in Planegg has not existed for ten years. But some businesses have bravely held the fort, family-owned for several generations. These include the Kraillinger butcher's shop Schreiber, at home at Margaretenstraße 51.

"Today the kitchen stays cold, today we're going..." - no, not to the Vienna Woods, but to Mrs. Schreiber's guest garden! This announcement has always been received with enthusiasm; from the mother, because she was spared cooking and washing up, from the children, because they did not have to "eat what was on the table" as usual, but could choose their favorite dishes. The father was also looking forward to the good roast from Georg Schreiber's adjoining butcher's shop. Although unfortunately the inn, formerly Ludwigsbad, has not existed since 1963, the business in the center of Kraillinger still exists today.

The Schreiber and Linner families, who are related to their families, have ensured the food supply of the Kraillinger family for many years, first with flour from the mill, then with meat and homemade sausages. Since Georg and Magdalena Schreiber took over the inn, butcher's shop and slaughterhouse in 1931, the business has been continued in the fourth generation. According to beautiful tradition, the sons always bore the name Georg, their wives were always diligently ready to cooperate.

After the death of her husband in the 70s, Anneliese Schreiber held the position until her son was able to take over the trade again as a trained butcher. Her daughter, named after her grandmother Magdalena, is still known to many customers as a friendly waitress in the shop. A photo shows her with her cousin Traudl Linner and her friend Veronika Sanftl from the watch shop opposite in 1967 at the flag consecration of the shooting club.

The slaughterhouse and inn were abandoned when the house was rebuilt. Meat and sausages, however, will be available as always, including home-cooked dishes, as soon as the Schreibers report back from vacation in September.

The brave bull in front of the shop has defied all the construction work of the Kraillinger "town center" and climbing children. However, the bathing huts as at the turn of the century no longer exist. Instead of "Ludwigsbad", the Italian restaurant "Rosario" delights the guests today.
