Highlights: Argentine coach Rubén Darío Insua was sent off in the Copa Sudamericana match against San Pablo. The Galician entered the field to argue with one of his players and ended up seeing the red card. San Lorenzo lost the match 1-0 and was eliminated from the competition. The coach could not be present at the press conference due to his expulsion, which prevented knowing the reason for his anger or if he wanted to express something about what happened.

About the end of the match against San Pablo and the elimination in the South American, the coach crossed with Gonzalo Luján and saw the red.

San Lorenzo could not withstand the 1-0 achieved in the Nuevo Gasómetro, lost by two goals difference against San Pablo in a packed Morumbi and put an end to its international path in the Copa Sudamericana.

But beyond the elimination, one of the hottest moments of the night had Rubén Darío Insua as the protagonist, who near the end entered the field to argue with one of his players and ended up seeing the red card.

When the third minute of the six totals that referee Esteban Ostojich had added in the complement, the Galician could not contain his nerves and exploded against Gonzalo Luján, his central defender, who began to fervently recriminate some tactical detail.

The Argentine coach forgot about the game for a few moments and entered the field, exceeding the limits imposed by the regulations, and stood a few steps from the defender to show his annoyance. Immediately, the referee came over and showed the red card to Insua, although the coach seemed to care little as he continued his protest.

Seeing the heated situation, Augusto Batalla had to intercede to calm his coach. "Ruben, Ruben, that's it!" shouted the goalkeeper, with the intention of resuming the game as quickly as possible to continue the quest to take the match to penalties.

At the request of his goalkeeper, the Galician began to go slowly towards the advertising posters located behind one of the arches, where he ended up watching the remaining minutes of the game.

Later, the coach could not be present at the press conference due to his expulsion, which prevented knowing the reason for his anger or if he wanted to express something about what happened, a situation that remained once he returned to the country.

The controversies of the match against São Paulo

When the clock struck 20 minutes of the first half and the match was still 0-0, the whole Cyclone claimed a supposed hand inside the area of Beraldo, one of the central defenders of the São Paulo team.

After an overflow of Iván Leguizamón on the right wing, the youth would execute a center that would end up hitting one of the Brazilian's arms.

Despite the claim, both the referee and the VAR considered that the defender's joint was attached to the torso, not expanding its volume in the play nor making an unnatural movement.

At the end of the match there was another situation that could also twist the fate of the match. Rafa Pérez went to the Brazilian area to look for the goal that would take the game to penalties and received a contact that could be sanctioned as an infraction and penalty.

The defender jumped and connected a header that was deflected but in the momentum of the movement received the impact of who was his marker. Despite the fact that the Colombian was left lying on the floor, neither the referee nor the VAR took note of the action and the game continued its course.
