A 19-year-old wanted to overtake a truck and crashed into oncoming traffic. She and her passenger were seriously injured.
Indersdorf – Two young women from the district of Dachau were seriously injured in an accident on Thursday.
Around 12.50 p.m., a 19-year-old car driver from Schwabhausen was driving her Ford on state road 2054 from Arnbach in the direction of Indersdorf and wanted to overtake a truck driving in front of her. In doing so, however, she overlooked the oncoming Ford of a 73-year-old from Erdweg.
Despite evasive and braking manoeuvres, the two vehicles collided head-on, as a result of which the 19-year-old's Ford overturned and came to a halt in the adjacent field. The 19-year-old driver and her co-driver of the same age from Erdweg were seriously injured, but not life-threatening. The driver had to be flown by rescue helicopter to the Munich-Harlaching hospital, the passenger had to be taken to the Dachau hospital by the ambulance service. The 73-year-old driver was uninjured.
The two vehicles had to be recovered by the towing service. The property damage is estimated by the police at a total of 17,000 euros. The 19-year-old driver is being investigated for negligent bodily injury. Pid
