He probably thought he had found the perfect hiding place. A man, who was about to commit a robbery in the Leclerc store in Gennevilliers, tried to escape the police by finding refuge in the false ceiling of the supermarket.
It is about 23:30 p.m. when the police are alerted, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, of an intrusion into the Leclerc store on Avenue du Général De Gaulle, in Gennevilliers. Upon arrival at the site, the officials first meet the director of the institution with whom they undertake to inspect the premises. Because the person in charge is formal: an individual broke into his store a few minutes ago. And according to the same official, this is not the first time.
In recent days, other thefts have already taken place in the supermarket, mainly in the hi-fi and video departments where tablets and laptops have recently disappeared. "The individual had spotted a flaw in the security system of the store, says a police source. Three series of thefts had already taken place for a total damage of nearly 20,000 euros. »
Except that in the store, the police, despite all their efforts, find no one. "They stayed long minutes in the supermarket before understanding where the individual had hidden," continues the same source. Namely in the false ceiling of the supermarket where this 23-year-old man, already known to the police, was waiting for the end of the inspection of the premises. Placed in custody, the latter had to explain himself, this Friday, before the criminal court of Nanterre where he was to be judged according to the procedure of immediate appearance.
