It's getting hot in the Upper Palatinate. Regensburg is particularly affected by its Danube basin. But the surrounding areas also suffer from the heat.
Regensburg – Although there are no longer any storms throughout Bavaria, a powerful low-pressure area over northwestern Europe is bringing a remarkable change in the weather. From this low, hot and dry air flows from the south to southern Germany, causing temperatures to rise to record-breaking highs in the coming days. The weather experts of the German Weather Service (DWD) emphasize that the coming weekend will undoubtedly be extremely hot, albeit without the side effects of the past few days.

Temperature extremes for Regensburg and the surrounding area
In Regensburg and the surrounding area, the thermometer is expected to exceed the 35-degree mark on Saturday. Willows can also adjust up to 33 degrees. The nights promise little cooling with lows of 15 degrees in Regensburg and Weiden, while it remains at 16 degrees on the Großer Arber. These drastic temperature fluctuations are typical of such a heat wave. And it remains hot: The coming days show a similar picture, so that relief in the form of cooler temperatures is not in sight for the time being.
Weekend weather in Bavaria: A look at the surrounding areas
But it is not only Regensburg and the Upper Palatinate that are facing this rise in temperature. The whole of Bavaria will be noticeably affected by the heat. Up to 34 degrees can be expected here on Saturday, and 32 degrees in the picturesque Allgäu. Individual clouds will hardly be able to cool down, but the nights will bring some relaxation. Temperatures drop to lows of 16 to 13 degrees.
The coming days promise scorching heat for the Regensburg region and the Upper Palatinate. Temperatures will be in the record range of up to 35 degrees and will hardly allow for any cooling at night. An end to the heat wave is not in sight until the middle of the week. The above-mentioned low could also bring cooler air to Bavaria. However, it is not yet possible to predict whether and by when this will be.
