In August, the health department reported 101 corona infections in the district of Weilheim-Schongau. The courses are mild.
County – Sore throat and fever: According to the county's health department, these are the main symptoms of the new Corona variants. In the past month, these have also spread more and more in the district, with the health department reporting 101 cases of illness. Compared to the previous months of June with eleven and July with ten cases, this number represents a significant increase. Currently, only diseases that have been tested positive by the family doctor are reported, according to Elisabeth Mattes, press spokeswoman for the district office.

In terms of symptoms and course, the new corona variants "hardly differ from a normal cold," Mattes emphasizes. Therefore, the health department also advises the same measures as for a cold in order to get fit again: "Physical rest, stay at home for three to five days if possible and treat the symptoms with appropriate medication."
However, there is of course no obligation to wear FFP2 masks in public as during the pandemic years, as the health department emphasizes again on request. However, facilities such as hospitals are likely to order a temporary mask requirement.
