Dietramszell - The first asylum seekers arrive in Dietramszell. At the most recent municipal council meeting, the councillors decided which accommodation would be suitable for the first 17 people.

Report from the Dietramszell town hall: Recently, Mayor Josef Hauser convened a crisis meeting. The reason for this was the forced allocation of a total of 34 asylum seekers, for whom suitable accommodation must be available quickly.

From September, the allocation of refugees to the municipalities will begin. District Administrator Josef Niedermaier (FW) assigned the first 17 refugees to the municipality of Dietramszell for the middle of the month. Four weeks later, the municipality is to take in another 17 and, according to statistics from the district office, more than 70 more asylum seekers will be accommodated there in the future.

Preliminary discussions had already been held

Since haste is called for, the head of the town hall, Josef Hauser (FW), summoned his committee to vote on potential properties that could serve as a refugee home, he reported when asked. The councils had already discussed the next steps in advance and quickly agreed.

A house in Untermühltal has been empty since the beginning of September

For the initial allocation, the municipality offers the district a municipality-owned house in Untermühltal. "According to initial estimates, seven people can be accommodated there." The post-war building will be vacant from September and "is estimated to offer space for seven people," Hauser continued, and could be prepared quickly.

Former kindergarten in Ascholding suitable for refugees?

The former kindergarten in Ascholding is another option for ten refugees. "However, partition walls have to be pulled in" so that several rooms could be created, Hauser said, estimating the conversion costs, including heating connections and conversions for sanitary facilities, at a five-digit amount.

For the time being, the old school in Linden can serve as living space in the basement

"In the old schoolhouse in Linden, as soon as the shooters move into their new community house in the fall, another twelve people on the ground floor and eight people on the upper floor could be accommodated," Hauser said. However, extensive modifications are also necessary here.

"All these proposals will be submitted immediately to the district office for further consideration, as time is of the essence," Hauser emphasized. However, he is "appalled by the action and the communities feel abandoned". The pressure would be passed on from the federal government to the states, administrative districts, district offices, all the way down. "The municipalities should now take care of coping with the refugees," he railed.

Asylum seekers must also be integrated, one of the councillors complained

Bernhard Fuchs (FW) noted that it was not enough to accommodate the refugees alone. "The people also have to be looked after," Hauser emphasized, explaining that neither staff nor money would be available for this.
