Under the hood, a cat sat in a car that drove 130 kilometers from Ellingen in the district of Weißenburg (Middle Franconia) to Landshut.
Landshut/Ellingen – Passers-by became aware of the approximately three-month-old animal, which was stuck directly behind the radiator grille, on Saturday afternoon in a parking lot of a shopping center.

The passers-by informed the volunteer fire brigade of the Lower Bavarian capital. It was quickly on the spot, the firefighters first unscrewed the underbody. Then the helpers were able to carefully get the kitten out of the engine compartment. "The animal survived the hardships, at least apparently, without major injuries and was taken to the local animal shelter for further care and support," the fire department said on Facebook.
If the cat doesn't belong to anyone, it ends up with a fire brigade family
The vehicle owners were completely flabbergasted when they were informed about the animal stowaway. Since it's neither chipped nor tattooed, no one can tell who owns it. The animal came to the Landshut animal shelter. At the same time, attempts are being made to find the owners of the animal through all possible channels.
And if no owner can be identified? Then the black-red-white pied cat will find a new home with a family of the Münchnerau fire brigade. For the fire brigade, the operation was otherwise over after about 30 minutes.
