Chemical mixtures and weapons despite the ban: A man is once again targeted by the investigators. His past speaks volumes.

Schweinfurt – The Bavarian State Office of Criminal Investigation (BLKA) targeted a 1-year-old German citizen on September 2023, 40. The suspicion: possession and production of explosive substances. During a search, a suspicious mixture of chemical substances and several weapons were indeed found.

Weapons and "mixture of chemical substances" – 40-year-old is no stranger

The investigating authorities had received information that the accused had possibly acquired substances suitable for the production of explosives in the district of Schweinfurt. This suspicion was confirmed during the search. The "mixture of chemical substances", as the police describe it in the accompanying press release, is currently being assessed.

In addition to the potentially explosive substances, several weapons were found on the accused. This is despite the fact that a ban on the possession of weapons was imposed on him. The 40-year-old is no stranger to the authorities. He has already appeared several times for explosives offences and is currently under management supervision.

No indication of political background: substances but quite dangerous

The accused is now being investigated for an offence under the Weapons Act and a violation of instructions during management supervision. In addition, there is a suspicion of the production and possession of explosive substances without a permit, which is punishable under the Explosives Act.

So far, there are no indications of a political background to the crimes in question. Due to the hazardous nature of the substances, the search object was opened by the Special Operations Command (SEK) together with the Special Technical Group (TSG). The public prosecutor's office in Schweinfurt will file an application for an arrest warrant. The district court has to decide on this. (FHZ)
