Highlights: On Tuesday (29 August), ARD primetime was all about tried-and-tested series. The three most-watched programs among the total audience aged three and over all came from the ARD program. After "In aller Freundschaft" came to an end, numerous viewers switched off at 21:47 p.m. The subsequent "report MUNICH" apparently did not strike a chord with the audience. The ratings for both the "Tagesthemen" and the programs "ARD Story" and "Das neue Leben des Rappers Dr. Knard" went steadily downhill.

On Tuesday evening, Das Erste was once again able to score points with its audience with concentrated series power. But afterwards, quite a few spectators switched off.

Berlin – On Tuesday (29 August), ARD primetime was all about tried-and-tested series: For years, "The Saviours – We Are Lawyers" and "In aller Freundschaft" have been attracting a loyal audience in front of their screens. This week, too, the station achieved a real ratings success with the two formats – only the follow-up program could not really inspire viewers.

Primetime success of the ARD – but from 21:47 p.m., the viewers switched off

The private TV stations did not have it easy on Tuesday: The new ProSieben show with Carolin Kebekus (43) "Wir gegen die!" left the competing stations RTL and Sat.1 no chance in the primetime ratings battle. But things also went very well for the first one that evening. According to the DWDL, the three most-watched programs among the total audience aged three and over all came from the ARD program. With the "Tagesschau" at 20 p.m. (4.06 million viewers) as well as with "Die Heiland - Wir sind Anwalt" at 20:15 p.m. (4.05 million viewers) and "In aller Freundschaft" at 21:04 p.m. (3.75 million viewers), the station secured the day's victory.

But after the end of the new "In aller Freundschaft" episode, the ARD's streak of success suddenly came to an end: According to AdScanner data from DWDL, numerous viewers switched off at 21:47 p.m. The subsequent "report MUNICH" apparently did not strike a chord with the audience. While Das Erste lost more and more people with its program, ZDF's ratings rose at the same time. There, from 21:45 p.m., the "heute-journal" ran and apparently collected quite a few ARD viewers.

Which number of spectators set the record in Germany?

On 13 July 2014, ARD made television history: the World Cup final between Germany and Argentina (1-0 a.e.t.) was watched by an estimated 34.65 million people on their own television sets. Crazy: People who watched the game at public viewing or in bars, for example, were not included in this count. The actual number is therefore likely to be considerably higher.

ARD viewers will not come back in the course of the evening

Even in the further course of the evening, the first could not win back the audience's interest. In the hours that followed, the ratings for both the "Tagesthemen" and the programs "ARD Story" and "Das neue Leben des Rappers Dr. Knard" went steadily downhill.
