The municipality of Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn has acquired land west of Wächterhofstraße. A new residential and commercial area is to be built on the land currently still used for agriculture.

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn – Before the concrete planning begins, the municipality wants to present the project to the population. To this end, a citizen information evening will take place on Tuesday, September 12, at 19 p.m. at the Höhenkirchen fire station, Altlaufstraße 99. According to Mayor Mindy Konwitschny (SPD), the aim is to work closely with the citizens on the development of the two necessary development plans.

According to Konwitschny, an industrial estate with a size of almost 40,000 square meters is to be built on the site, which is located north of Konzeller Straße and borders Hirschwinkelstraße in the west and Wächterhofstraße in the east. An area of around 23,000 square meters is planned for housing.

Companies with service, technology and creative jobs

According to Konwitschny, the basic idea is to round off the residential development to the existing park, which runs along the south side of Ottobrunner Straße and ends at Hirschwinkelstraße. The existing green space is to be extended to the east and serves to separate residential and commercial areas. Ideally, companies "with service, technology and creative jobs" should settle in the industrial park itself, as stated in the invitation of the municipal administration to the citizens' information evening. In addition, the development plans should meet forward-looking standards in terms of sustainability and ecology. The process for the development of the two development plans is scheduled to begin in the autumn.

Citizens should be able to participate in decision-making

At the presentation in the Höhenkirchen fire station, the municipality not only wants to explain the planned procedure to the citizens, but also show how the citizens can participate in the development of the residential and commercial area. According to the invitation, "extensive citizen participation in the various steps of the procedure that is now beginning" is planned. With the designation of new commercial areas, the town hall administration and the municipal council hope to be able to increase the municipality's trade tax revenues and create attractive jobs in the village. Especially since a solid financial basis is needed in view of the investments planned for the next few years – be it the long-term security of the local water supply, the construction of a heating network or the expansion of the school and childcare infrastructure.
