There are some who dream of being locked up at night in a department store. And there are those who will be able to spend two days rue Joffre in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique) for 2 euros. The association of traders of this atypical street in downtown Nantes is launching a raffle whose jackpot is to spend 48 hours in the eye, from Friday evening to Sunday 18 pm, for two people.
"This is a first in France, in any case, we have not found anything similar on search engines," says Nadine Neveu, of the gift shop Bientôt, co-president of the association. This operation, called Joffre mon week-end, includes two nights, one in a hotel, the other in a "love room", as well as breakfasts, lunches, dinners, in partner establishments, according to a pre-established program. There are also aperitifs and digestives to take, according to the desire, in the bars.
Bar, record dealer, bookseller, hairdresser...
"But this weekend, it's not just hanging out in bars! warns Jean-Marc Laurent, from the Duchess bar. The winners will also have vouchers to go to the bookseller, the record store. On Saturday, we planned a visit to the hairdressers or a massage. Tickets for the nearby Nantes Art Museum are also in the basket. A way for merchants to show the diversity of their street.

"And also to make talk about us a little outside Nantes," admits Olivier Hochedez, boss of the Cellier, caterer and wine merchant, without false modesty. The weekend is scheduled from September 29 to October 1, right during the Chaussette de M. Joffre, a street arts festival. Winners will wear a "Winner" badge. "It will be kings wherever they go, they will be welcomed at the height of their victory," promise the traders. The whole world can participate on the Helloasso website.
