The Interporto of Padua has launched a new intermodal rail link with Poland, which will allow important connections between the North-East port of call and Central and Eastern Europe. The intermodal trains of containers, tank-containers and soon semi-trailers leave from the PCC terminal of Gliwice, in southern Poland, to reach the freight village through Austria and the Tarvisio pass The first convoys, each composed of about twenty tank-containers, contained loads of sunflower oil for food use, coming from Ukraine, and destined for Italy Soon the traffic will expand to other types of goods.
PccIntermodal is an important Polish company that operates between Poland, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Austria and Ukraine, and that now, with this new relationship, widens its range of action to the Italian market.
