The scene of the accident in Beersheba, September 8, 2023/Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson, Matanel Busheri
A 50-year-old man was killed Friday morning after apparently being hit by a bus that deteriorated on Uri Zvi Greenberg Boulevard in Beer Sheva. MDA medics and paramedics were called to the scene and gave him medical treatment - at the end of which they were forced to pronounce him dead.
MDA medic Hananel Benita said: "We arrived at the scene and saw the man lying a few meters from the bus, unconscious and with injuries to his body. We performed medical tests on him, he had no pulse and no breathing, and we immediately began performing prolonged resuscitation on him, at the end of which we had to pronounce him dead on the spot."
United Hatzahala medic Daniel Levy said: "This is a serious scene of an accident involving a pedestrian who, according to passersby, was hit by a bus that deteriorated. With the help of a mobile intensive care team, we performed CPR on him in an attempt to save his life, but unfortunately at the end of the resuscitation efforts they had to pronounce him dead, due to the nature of the serious injuries he suffered."
