According to the Lebanese newspaper, Israel's protest was reflected in a statement issued by a UNIFIL spokesman. The statement said, "The discussions taking place at the meetings are secret. The reports published about the meetings may jeopardize the progress made so far to reduce tensions, and the progress in discussions on the unresolved issues on the Blue Line (the northern border).
In addition to UNIFIL, the Lebanese army issued its own statement saying: "The meeting was held to discuss the 13 points considered a violation. It was decided that the contacts and meetings would continue under the auspices of the United Nations. The military command denies the correctness of the information published about reaching any agreement on this issue."
