The burning of the statue of David Ben-Gurion on Bograshov Beach in Tel Aviv is another of many events in the chain of violence that has not spared, of course, the last bastion of Israeli liberalism – the first Hebrew city.
It is enough to walk around the promenade on a Friday evening, and see dozens of youths "flying" on electric scooters undisturbed, terrorizing entire families, when the hapless municipal inspectors fail to control them.

Tel Aviv cannot escape the ubiquitous violence. The burning of the statue of the man who established a state here is another stage in the global decline: once a village with its inhabitants is burned here, sometimes beaten on the road and sometimes a statue is burned.
The identity of the person who burned the statue of David Ben-Gurion is not significant, what is important is that the previous year was replaced by a new one with a symbolic act that signals to us that what was, is what it will be: as long as a lawyer can stand in the Supreme Court and talk about the Declaration of Independence as a hastily written document, there will always be someone who will come after me and burn the statue of the person who signed it.
There is currently no responsible adult to take responsibility for what is happening. The newspaper headlines published on the holiday wanted this year to be different, but for now there seems to be nothing behind them. As a herd without a shepherd, Israeli society continues to be violent and divided. The coming year is 2024, let's hope we don't impregnate each other.
