Throughout the length and breadth of the country, quite a few inspiring apartments and houses have been designed in recent years, but only a few of them contain a unique concept that is intertwined in the various spaces

The penthouse apartment is located in one of the central cities, in a new tower on the first line to the sea. It is conceptual, meticulous and polished, and from its large windows a panoramic view of azure water is revealed. The person in charge of its planning and design is Orly Silver, owner of an interior design studio, who participates in the process.

"We received the apartment in shell condition, and as such it provided ample ground for many planning options. We divided it in a way that suits the concept and the needs of the family - we created a complete separation between the hospitality wing and the living area, between which is a secret door that is an integral part of the kitchen facades and when opened we will discover a corridor leading to the bedrooms. At the same time, it was important to us that the kitchen, dining area and living room enjoy an open view of the sea and the balcony where an infinity pool with a transparent wall was planned, so that it seemed as if the entire apartment merges directly with the sea."

The meticulous planning does not stop there, and it is clear that Silver chose to create another intriguing layer in the apartment: "We chose a unique concept that connects the spaces – elements that carry on their backs the shapes of broken lines that chip and repeat in the various wings of the house. They create mobility and provide an additional layer of form. For example, in the fireplace wall in the dining area, in the carpentry in the corridor that connects the public and the private, in the master bedroom and even in the bedroom of one of the children, where we integrated the idea of broken lines into the carpentry fitting."

It's hard not to be impressed by the minimalist and polished line and the emphasis they put on every detail in the apartment: "We worked a lot with cladding: one of them is the invisible gray marble we used for wall cladding in the living room and dining area, and the high-quality Laminam surfaces, which allowed us to create the appearance of organic and natural stone and at the same time remain optimal in terms of maintenance and cleaning. The colorfulness is monochromatic and this is a decision we took in advance in order to give the proper stage to the pool and the sea. We also incorporated mirror elements that create a reflection of space and light and bring the landscape in all its glory."

When the front door to the apartment is opened, the kitchen, the living room and the stunning view are revealed. The dining area was located next to the living room, in an enveloping and intimate corner, and still enjoys the sights from the outside. "The concept of broken lines is revealed in the dining area even more vigorously," explains the designer. "The fireplace wall is covered with a blackened mirror and is actually a closet that includes plenty of storage cabinets. On top of the glass we incorporated aluminum rods painted in a silver iron shade that create interest and rhythm, while some of them also serve as furniture handles."

"For the living room, I chose a seating system with rounded silhouettes and a dynamic work of art that breaks and refines the geometric mass. A special TV screen serves as an airy divider between the living room and the dining area and sits on a rotating plate, so that the screen can be shifted as needed in both directions."

"It was important to me that everyone who works or stays in the kitchen enjoy the view, so I created an L-shaped space, at a vertical angle to the hallway, with a long chain of high cabinets and black glass display cases that enhance the drama. The facades are covered with black veneer that has undergone deep sandblasting – a process that enhances the appearance of the wood fibers. In the center of the space stands a large stainless steel island with a Negresco marble surface through which a TV screen flows as needed, one that rises up by an elevator located in the body of the furniture.

The balcony is undoubtedly one of the highlights of this apartment: "The family hosts a lot so apart from the pool, which takes up a lot of space, it was important for me to integrate additional hosting functions without still maintaining space and flow. For example, family members and guests enjoy a fully equipped outdoor kitchen and a huge TV; From deck chairs made of luxurious plexiglass in a clear turquoise shade that adds a dimension of airiness and transparency; And from a built bench, which we upholstered in pure blue and turquoise sea colors that serves as a kind of chaise lounge and does not block the view. In practice, we created a wonderful space for them to host and hold events with a light enough texture, so that even when you look out at the view from inside the apartment, there are almost no barriers that cloud the view."

And from the public, to the private: in the passageway between the kitchen and the bedrooms, Silver created a powerful carpentry wall with light slits that are true to the concept of broken lines and create movement in the given space. The opposite wall, where the entrance doors to the children's rooms are embedded, was covered with tight sex surfaces in a shade of dark gray natural stone. She covered the opposite side of the doors with light surfaces.

"In the bedroom wing, we wanted to create a warm touch. The floor was covered with oak parquet that was laid in a Fishbone layout. In the children's bedrooms, we combined optimization and elements in warm colors without breaking the precise and polished look."

At the entrance to the master bedroom there is a corridor with one of the sides, the one through which you enter the spacious and large walk-in closet, a canopy of various surfaces, this time in a slightly different shade. We've created a space that's as big and airy as a game of transparencies. For example, the bathroom, which is completely transparent and faces the bedroom, so we used transparent glass on demand that becomes opaque if you want to create privacy. In the process, we chose two-way mirrors that descend from the ceiling and in the large shower stall we added beyond the jets also a sauna system, just like in a Turkish bath. The bathroom cabinet is made entirely of marble and I chose to cover the walls and floor with Laminam, this time in a light gray shade that compliments the colorful palette of the space. The concept of broken lines is repeated in the back wall of the bed, the lower part of which we enclosed with veneer plates above which are rods in a dark and dramatic shade."
