Chef Haim Cohen opens Pizzi – his and his wife, Sigal Cohen's café – for a three-month pop-up at Sarona Market in Tel Aviv. The two opened the place in 2019 at the Paz gas station at the junction of Kfar HaYarok, with the goal of creating the café they wanted for themselves. Over time, the place expanded and made this station a destination.
"We started from a very small space, three meters by three meters, no more," Cohen recalls, adding: "Very quickly this space became a real place, with all that it means. We didn't think people would come and drink their coffee inside a gas station, and in fact we were sure that the station would attract people to us. It turns out the exact opposite happened, and we're bringing people to it."

The demand led them to expand Fitzy and continue to nurture the devout and loyal community that continues to go there like them. "We managed to create a complete disconnection inside a gas station," Cohen describes. "A kind of quiet garden, with green vegetation, that allows people to come with a smile, drink good coffee and eat great sandwiches and our food next door."

Already in the coming days, as mentioned, the place will open for a pop-up at Sarona Market in Tel Aviv, "whose beginning is exciting and whose end still allows a little optimism of possibilities for staying," the place explains.
The pop-up menu includes sweets such as tarts and yeast cakes, homemade cakes and cookies or dishes such as quiches, good sandwiches, salads and also stews and interesting deli products. You can find, for example, sandwiches based on breads from Kaufman and Cohen Bakery from Herzliya with tuna salad or egg salad or crispy zucchini patties. In the salad fridge you can find, among other things, Niçoise salad, colorful Greek salad, pesto pasta salad and more.

"We brought good cakes and baguettes baked on the spot, our food and our hand, as well as wine," Cohen says, adding: "But we haven't forgotten Fitzy's DNA for a moment. It might be great and we decide to stay, but there will definitely be a celebration here."
