Economy Minister Nir Barkat was able to close trading on the New York Stock Exchange on Monday night by ringing the TASE's iconic bell, marking the closing of trading on the world's largest stock exchange. In honor of the ceremony, the entire American stock exchange was painted blue and white, flanked by Minister Barkat by Lynn Martin, President of the New York Stock Exchange.

The New York Stock Exchange is the world's largest stock exchange by total value of companies, and the second largest in the number of listed companies. Today, the street name "Wall Street" is commonly used to refer to the stock exchange itself.
