Jordan's King Abdullah II told the UN General Assembly on Wednesday that "Jerusalem is a flash point of global concern. Under the Hashemite custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites, Jordan remains committed to preserving the city's identity."

"We must protect young Palestinians from extremists who prey on their frustrations and hopelessness by continuing to attend schools under the blue flag of the UN, because the alternative will be the black flags of terrorism, hatred and extremism."
