The deputy minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Noam Avi Maoz Party Chairman was interviewed by the Channel 7 website, and provided a surprising statement regarding the legal reform.

Maoz said that in the upcoming Knesset session, the government should "deal mainly with the cost of living." Maoz expressed satisfaction with the reform but also criticized the fact that it has become the forefront of everything and concentrates all government efforts on it. "We have 3 more years to govern," he said. "We have taken the first step in reform and the justice system, but we need to put it aside and deal with the cost of living that is paralyzing our lives and all people in this country."
Maoz referred to the high costs of education for toddlers in Israel. "It hurts all of us, and especially the weaker sectors in the periphery – they are the ones who chose us and sent us – it can't be that a young couple pays NIS 8000,<> for two children in the daycare centers – it can't be – they can't make ends meet."
Referring to the protests that brought large parts of Israeli citizens to demonstrations in the streets, Maoz said. "The protest did not start because of the reform, but the moment the right won the elections. There were days when they attacked me even before Levin spoke about the reform, and even then Lapid called on everyone to go to demonstrations."

He added, "I think that the protest has good things, it awakens us to thoughts about our identity and essence, but I think that the coalition in the upcoming session of the Knesset should deal mainly with the cost of living. We need to take a break, I don't say freeze, I don't mean cancel, take a break and deal with the cost of living, lower it and now."
