Munich – The 188th Oktoberfest is in full swing. 100 rides and 40 marquees await millions of visitors from 16 September to 3 October. It certainly won't be boring at the world's largest folk festival. Even ordering beer is a spectacle at the Oktoberfest. Because Oktoberfest waitresses manage to light-footedly transport almost unbelievable quantities of beer mugs to the tables in the marquee.

Last year, 5.7 million guests came to the Oktoberfest. According to the Munich city portal, the Oktoberfest is particularly popular with travelers from the USA, Switzerland and Italy. British, Austrians, Australians and French are also among the top ten guests in Munich in the "fifth season".

Where "Ed" originally comes from is not clear from his profile on platform X (formerly Twitter). What is clear, however, is that the man was deeply impressed by the performance of a waitress during his visit to the Oktoberfest this year. "That has to be 15 kilograms and beer worth 140 euros. Crazy!" the user wrote enthusiastically, adding, "I'm not coming home!" To do this, he shared a video on the platform in which a waitress seemingly effortlessly carries about twelve mugs to a table.

For many of the Oktoberfest employees, the work has a great attraction simply because of the good atmosphere – regardless of the salary. "What I like is that here, right now in the Hofbräu, the whole world comes together and that everyone just wants to have fun," said another waitress recently in a ZDF documentary.
