After responding to the petition to the High Court of Justice through the use of private representation, and after demanding the postponement of the hearing on the non-convening of the Judicial Selection Committee, the legal hearing on one of the key essential points in Minister Yariv Levin's legal reform will take place on October 22, 2023.

Justice Minister Yariv Levin demanded that the High Court of Justice cancel the order against its decision not to convene the Judicial Selection Committee.
In his response to the petitions against his refusal to convene the Judicial Selection Committee, Levin wrote to the Supreme Court that his refraining from convening the committee was in order to formulate a broad consensus and as part of his authority as chairman of the committee. According to him, "the committee should not be convened at this time."
About a week ago, the justice minister said that "the authority to convene the committee for the selection of judges is mine exclusively, there is no room for intervention." In response, the High Court issued a conditional order and instructed Levin to explain why he did not convene the Judicial Selection Committee.
