A scientific-technological cooperation agreement was signed between the Minister of Innovation, Technology, Ofir Akunis, and the Minister of Innovation and Technology of the UK, George Freeman, as part of the Minister's visit to London.
The agreement strengthens scientific and technological cooperation between the countries, and provides a new framework for the promotion and support of scientific ideas and research in areas of common interest as agreed upon by the parties, including: artificial intelligence, civil space, the advancement of medical technologies, drug development, and climate change.

The joint research will yield groundbreaking discoveries and technological developments in the coming years, with an emphasis on advancing Israel's national priority areas, led by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology; The signing of the agreement in these areas attests to the close ties between the countries.
Minister Akunis commented on the agreement, saying: "I am pleased and excited to sign today a bilateral memorandum of understanding between the Israeli Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology (MOST) and the UK's Department of Innovation and Science Technology (DSIT). The new agreement will make a significant contribution and enhance scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries. and will strengthen the ties between scientists and entrepreneurs in academia and high-tech in both countries."

According to Akunis, relations between Israel and Britain have been growing closer in recent years: "The new cooperation will boost not only our scientific communities, but also the culture, economy and security of our two peoples. The gloomy forecasts and the black bile contribute nothing to Israeli science and innovation. International agreements of the kind we signed this morning in Britain contribute to and strengthen Israel both in international public opinion and in the professional spheres."
Israeli Ambassador to London Tzipi Hotovely, who participated in the signing ceremony, congratulated: "Britain and Israel are at the forefront of the world stage in research and technology, and the agreement will enable scientists from both countries to work together on groundbreaking research to improve the lives of us all."
