Upon receiving reports of recent arson incidents in the city of Or Akiva, Hadera Station police deployed reinforced forces in order to check the background and circumstances and prevent further incidents, and tonight, during an operational activity by Hadera Station policemen, in cooperation with Border Policemen, information emerged that a known local criminal intended to carry out additional arson.

The officers located the suspect and when he noticed the police cars, he began driving wildly in order to flee the scene, and by erecting a checkpoint at the Pal-Yam junction, the suspect was arrested and brought to the police station for interrogation, at the end of which he was imprisoned.

In accordance with the findings of the investigation and the evidence, today the police will ask the Hadera Magistrate's Court to extend his detention, while the investigation into his case continues.
