Volunteers from the Southern District Rescue Unit, assisted by Arad police officers and IDF forces from Unit 669, were called today (Friday) to rescue a 19-year-old hiker who fell into the "Colonel's" Cave on Mount Sodom.

The 19-year-old hiker, a resident of Otniel, fell into the "Colonel's" cave on Mount Sodom and sustained physical injuries. The rescuers reached the victim deep in the cave and gave him initial medical treatment, which included bandages and splints. Later, he was rescued by a dedicated stretcher to the IDF's 669th Rescue Unit helicopter, which was waiting outside the cave for further treatment at Soroka Medical Center in light condition.
