The US election: A new poll by ABC and The Washington Post indicates a serious deterioration in Biden's standing in public opinion - only 31 percent think the country is headed in a good direction.
Former President Donald Trump crosses the half-threshold for the first time and reaches 51 percent favorability. Biden, on the other hand, is slipping to 42 percent, two fewer than in the previous poll. On in-depth questions, a large majority of respondents say their economic situation has deteriorated under Biden. Respondents also accuse Biden of mishandling the immigration problem.
