As every year, rescue and emergency teams were overloaded with work during Yom Kippur. MDA medics and paramedics were dispatched to provide medical treatment to 3,025 people throughout the country, of whom 2,069 were evacuated to hospitals for further treatment, of whom 295 fainted, dehydrated and felt unwell due to fasting.

A total of 307 people were injured and required medical treatment for injuries sustained by bicycles, skates, scooters and skateboards, including a 68-year-old man who sustained a head injury when he slipped off his bicycle on Freud Road in Haifa and was taken to hospital in serious condition. Five were moderately injured and 5 were lightly wounded.

In addition, 37 people were injured in violent incidents throughout Israel, including two men who were critically injured in Taybeh and Kabul, who were evacuated in MDA intensive care vehicles to Meir Hospital and the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, where they were pronounced dead. In addition, 3 were seriously injured in violent incidents, 4 moderately and 28 lightly.

34 people were injured in road accidents across the country, including a 40-year-old cyclist (a foreign national from China) who was moderately injured when hit by a vehicle on Road 444 near Habelt and 33 lightly.

MDA teams were also called in to transfer 170 women to hospitals. In addition, during the holiday, a 74-year-old man was rushed to Kaplan Medical Center after being bitten by a snake. He is on a ventilator, in serious condition, and transferred to the General Intensive Care Unit.

MDA's blood services supplied hospitals in Israel with 161 doses and blood components during Yom Kippur.
