Christoph Prinz zu Schleswig-Holstein is dead. He died on Wednesday at the age of 74 as a result of a long-standing illness.
Güby – Christoph Prince of Schleswig-Holstein was the eldest son of Peter, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein and Marie Alix, Duchess of Schleswig-Holstein. After his military service, he studied agricultural sciences in Munich and Kiel. After the death of his father in 1980, he took over his father's duties for agricultural and forestry property as well as the chairmanship of the board of the Louisenlund Foundation, according to the foundation. Until then, he had worked for the former Mannesmann Group.

His family comes from a collateral line of the House of Oldenburg, to which many prominent representatives of the European high nobility belong, including the royal houses of Denmark and Norway as well as the British King Charles III (74). An obituary shared by the prestigious boarding school Louisenlund via Instagram reads: "At the age of 74, the former chairman of the board of the Louisenlund Foundation, Prince Christoph of Schleswig-Holstein, has passed away. Prince Christoph saw it as his family duty to stand up for Louisenlund." On the website of the all-day high school, his efforts for a "future-oriented economic and energy policy" are highlighted.
