The largest influx of visitors was on Sunday, Monday was a "day for connoisseurs". After three days, the organizer of the "Tölzer Herbstzauber" draws a balance of success.

Bad Tölz – If you often offer your goods at open-air markets, you also have to cope with wet and cold. But at the "Tölzer Herbstzauber", which took place from Sunday to Tuesday in and around the Kurhaus, imperial weather with summer temperatures was the order of the day - to the great delight of organizer Michaela Dorfmeister, the numerous exhibitors and, of course, the numerous visitors.

"Tölzer Herbstzauber" attracts numerous visitors to the spa gardens

The fact that the "Autumn Magic" started on a Sunday for the first time this time was due to the fact that a second holiday, the Day of German Unity, could be included. But the bridging day on Monday was also well received.

While some guests strolled relaxed along the stalls through the spa gardens, others – with the map in hand – headed for specific dealers. For example, a holidaymaker couple from Nuremberg, who were looking for unusual garden decorations as souvenirs for their loved ones at home.

As usual, textile offerings were also part of the range – tailored to cooler days according to the season. "Well, right now you really don't need these warm clothes, but the next winter is sure to come," said two women from Tölz, inspecting the color palette of the warming jackets made of Peruvian alpaca wool presented by seller Christian Figueroa.

Spa park offers a beautiful ambience for the "Tölzer Herbstzauber"

Exhibitors and guests alike feel at home in the beautiful and natural atmosphere of the spa park - for many this is one of the reasons to come back here again and again, whether as a dealer or as a visitor and customer. Among the consistent suppliers are gardener Eugen Schleipfer from Neusäss near Augsburg and Anna Angermaier from the nursery of the same name in Bad Feilnbach.

On the other hand, the 17th edition of the Tölzer Herbstzauber was attended for the first time by Manual Planella, the inventor of a pocket square holder, which he had already presented in the Vox start-up show "Die Höhle der Löwen". Another new addition to the range of goods were decorative luminescent ceramic medallions, which, after illumination with light, store it and then slowly release it again.

But do the market visitors also buy or do they just look? He has the feeling, according to a supplier of kitchen appliances, that people choose more carefully and no longer make so many impulse purchases.

131 exhibitors present themselves at the "Tölzer Herbstzauber"

In general, Michaela Dorfmeister was pleased at the opening on Sunday that at least 131 exhibitors had confirmed their participation and offered their treasures between the trees of the spa park, which were turning early autumn. "I would like to present a wide range of products, but this is no longer so easy, because during the Corona period, some retailers have probably given up their business or they no longer want to keep all the appointments," said Dorfmeister. Interested guests were also welcome at the Ukraine Helpers' Circle, which had equipped its stand with hand-painted Christmas tree baubles and crocheted angels from the war-torn country, among other things.

Meanwhile, the hustle and bustle and the musical performances in the pavilion did not disturb some mallards, which calmly cleaned their plumage in the reed-covered pond.

"Tölzer Herbstzauber" for three days in the weather

Inside the Kurhaus, too, individual jewellery creations, handmade bags and belts made of cowhide leather as well as filigree turned and carved Christmas wooden balls attracted attention.

Those who did not yet know about the special abilities of Bulgarian rose oil were initiated at a lecture by Angelina Nikolova. On Tuesday afternoon, Dorfmeister gave a preliminary assessment of the three-day event: "The weather was really a gift for us. Sunday was probably the most popular, the quieter Monday was a day for the connoisseurs."

The parking situation in Tölz is difficult. So it's all the better that the free shuttle service from the train station to the Kurhaus with the RVO buses works well. "All in all, everything went very well."
