A 128-year-old mummy, turned into a local legend in Reading, Pennsylvania, will finally have a funeral. The body has been exposed for decades at the Theo C. Auman funeral home, becoming a tourist attraction.
The mummified man has not been identified, but it is known that he was an alcoholic and died of local insufficiency on November 19, 1895. The community gave him the nickname 'Stoneman Willie', after the body was embalmed by accident at the funeral home when the keeper was experimenting with new embalming techniques.
After more than 100 years of historical research, those in charge of the funeral home have announced that they have managed to find the identity of the body, a mystery that they will reveal at the end of the week in a funeral celebrated by the locals with a parade through the streets of the town.
