Landsberg - With a number of over 1,400 participants in the 16th "Hardy's City Run", a new record was set. The registration portal had to be closed in mid-September. Word has got around in the region that Klinke's fitness chain is organizing a sporting event here where young and old can win medals according to their personal performance level.
The most diligent presenter of the coveted trophiesimmediately after crossing the finish line on the main square was Lord Mayor Doris Baumgartl, who also gave the starting signal for the disciplines. Whether in the children's and youth runs, the 5- and 10-kilometer runs, the 5-kilometer Nordic walking or the half marathon - the mayor held the position ironically, congratulated the winners and cheered up the runners-up. For the half marathon monster distance of 21 kilometers, the circuit along the western bank of the Lech had to be completed four times.
Drinking was a must at all runs, especially since the autumn sun was at its best. Skillful hands handed the athletes mineral water during the run. They were cheered on not only by the numerous audience along the route, but also loudly by the drummers of the group "Uniao do Samba" and spirited cheerleading girls. Inconspicuous and yet present everywhere were the organizers Ramona Schmette and the Klinke family with senior boss Anne and the managing children Anna, Johannes and Franziska. The latter was co-presenter of Dominic Wimmer, who led through the event on the stage of Radio TOP-FM 106.4 informatively as always. After the award ceremony, he also brought the 74 helpers from Hardy's fitness studios onto the stage. Since six o'clock in the morning, they had transformed the city centre of Landsberg into a colourful sports arena.
The winner of the 800-meter children's race was Arnaud Pellé, in the 2,000-meter youth race Luka Xie won. In the 5 kilometers, Johannes Hillebrand was ahead, and in 10 kilometers, Stefan Fichtl. The winner of the half marathon with a lead of almost two minutes was Jules Rau. The team classification of the 5-kilometer run was won by Ruck-Zuck Bruck, while the ten-kilometer race was won by the VfL Kaufering Triathlon. The half marathon was won by the Steak & Friends team.
