Inconceivable: An entire family was wiped out in an instant. On Saturday morning, terrorists infiltrated Tamar Kedem Siman Tov's home in Kibbutz Nir Oz and murdered her, her husband Yonatan (Johnny), their 6-year-old twin daughters Shahar and Arbel, and their 4-year-old son Omer. Tamar ran for mayor of Eshkol. At first it was unclear what had happened to them, but last night (Sunday) the horror became clear.

Her friend Tzofia Cohen wrote on PsyBook: "My heart is bleeding. Tamar was murdered on Kibbutz Nir Oz with her husband Johnny (Yonatan) and her three children, Arbel Shahar and Omer. Their sacred memory is a blessing. I hoped so much that they would find it and the bitter news hits me, my beloved Tamar finds it hard to believe, how is it possible? What human scum murder babies with their parents? How hard it is to think that you are gone. My heart is with your parents, sister and Johnny's family."

A close friend of hers, Gilad Maman, eulogized her on Facebook: "Dear Tamari, the tears do not stop. I promise not to forget. I will never forget your wedding on the lawn of the kibbutz, how happy you were in your eyes. I will never forget the modesty, tenderness and love. How important this whole area was to you, I have no doubt that you would have been elected mayor, leadership flowed through your veins. Thank you. Thank you for who you have been in the world to me. You are an example of the people this country is missing and your heart aches for you, Johnny and your three sweethearts. Sorry they weren't there for you in the last moments to help."
