The horrors of Hamas have no age limit. While the attack by the Islamist movement in power in Gaza has left several hundred dead and missing since Saturday, several French nationals are to be deplored among the victims.
"We deplore the death of two compatriots and have no news of fourteen others whose situation is considered very worrying. This number is still likely to change," the Quai d'Orsay said in a statement published on Monday evening. Among the missing is "a child under the age of 12," he said.
His mother and sisters are also French
The missing French child is named Eitan. The 12-and-a-half-year-old lives with his family in Kibbutz Nir Oz in southern Israel, just a few hundred metres from the Gaza Strip. He was kidnapped on a motorcycle by Hamas terrorists on Saturday, according to his aunt Ayala Yahalomi. She says that Ohad, Eitan's father, is also missing.

Contacted by Le Parisien, Ayala Yahalomi said that Eitan has "French citizenship", like her mother Batsheva and one of her two sisters. They also managed to flee during the assault by Hamas gunmen on their family home last Saturday, Ayala Yahalomi said. Only Eitan and his father are missing.
Shortly after 22 p.m. on Monday, Ayala Yahalomi said she still had "no news" of her nephew and brother. Several other French nationals in Israel, such as Céline Ben-David Nagar and Avidan T., are also missing.
