In order to make things easier for the public, at the request of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, Tax Authority Director Shai Aharonovitch ordered a number of reliefs.
As part of the easing, the deadlines for submitting periodic reporting for September 2023 in VAT, deductions and income tax advances will be postponed to October 26.

At the same time, no fines will be imposed for late filing of reports submitted until November 23. However, charges for interest and indexation differences will apply until the actual date of payment. The Tax Authority says that in exceptional cases, it will be possible to submit an individual request to cancel interest and indexation differentials together with supporting documents. In addition, extensions will be given for filing annual reports and capital declarations for 2022 in order of lengths for representatives.

What are the updated deadlines for submitting annual reports for 2022?
Membership – The first filing date set for October 31, 10 will be postponed to November 23, 30.
Individuals – The second submission date set for 11.23.30 will be postponed to 11.23.31.
Capital declarations - capital declarations whose filing date is set for September 12, 23 and later, the date for filing will be extended until December 1, 9, or until the date of filing the reports for 23 in accordance with the extension arrangement for representatives, whichever is later.

It was also reported that "over the next two weeks, the Tax Authority will show sensitivity and flexibility regarding the management of existing proceedings and the opening of new ones, and an orderly directive on the matter will be issued to the ministries."

In addition, the Tax Authority will not impose new foreclosures on debts, nor will execution proceedings and foreclosure realizations be carried out until October 20, and if there are changes, this date will be updated. The Tax Authority emphasizes that this is not a cancellation of existing foreclosures or erasure of debts, but only a halt to the aforementioned proceedings, and linkage differentials and interest on debts will apply according to the law.

Alongside these leniencies for the general public, in the near future the Tax Authority will adopt a policy of individual assistance to reservists and residents of the Gaza envelope and the south. As part of this policy, it was decided that recruited reservists, as well as residents of the south and the Gaza envelope who did not submit periodic reports for September 2023 on time, will be able to receive full cancellation of fines, linkage differentials and interest.

The treatment will be carried out through individual referral through online communication channels. It was also decided that as part of the Tax Authority's assistance to residents of the Gaza envelope and the south, priority will be given to applications submitted by them through online channels, both in the public referral system and in the representative referral system.

At the same time, the Tax Authority opened dedicated channels of inquiries for reservists, both in the public inquiry system and in the system of referrals to representatives, on all subjects, which are intended to enable quick handling of these inquiries.
