He is yet another victim of Hamas' barbarism. Dan Benhamou, a 27-year-old from Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), was killed on Saturday during the "Tribe of Nova" techno music festival, Le Parisien learned from his family.
Like several hundred Israelis and foreigners, Dan went to the "Tribe of Nova" festival, which was held outdoors near Kibbutz Reim in southern Israel from Friday night to Saturday afternoon. The event was brutally attacked by Hamas at around 6:30 a.m. According to the latest figures, nearly 260 people were killed in the attack.

Dan's loved ones had not heard from him since Saturday morning. His older brother, Yohan, then posted an appeal for witnesses on Facebook to try to obtain any information about his disappearance. He finally learned of her death on Tuesday. "He was killed on Saturday, but they only managed to recognize his body yesterday (Tuesday)," Yohan told Le Parisien.
"Dan was a good boy, he didn't do the army, he doesn't care about war"
Dan, 27, was born in Marseille, like his older brother Yohan and their father. Their mother is from Aix-en-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône). The family moved to Israel when Dan and Yohan were still children. "I have two other brothers who were born here in Israel," Yohan says.
"Dan was a good boy, he didn't join the army, he doesn't care about war," he says, very shaken by the disappearance of his little brother. "He was killed at the Nova festival, he was just there to live."
Dan's funeral will take place on Tuesday afternoon at a cemetery in Ra'anana, an Israeli city north of Tel Aviv, according to a Facebook post on the "Herzliya my city" page. The gathering reportedly began at 15 p.m. local time.
Contacted by Le Parisien, the Quai d'Orsay did not wish to confirm or deny the death of Dan Benhamou. The latest toll on French nationals in Israel published by the Foreign Ministry shows eight dead and 20 people missing.
