Inbal Lieberman, a 25-year-old Israeli, saved her entire kibbutz by leading a group of residents. Together, they killed more than two dozen terrorists, five of them Lieberman himself. As reported by Israel Hayom, among others, Lieberman had been assigned as the security coordinator of Kibbutz Nir Am since December 2022. On the morning of October 7, the 25-year-old heard explosions near her caused by Hamas.

When Lieberman heard the sounds, which differed from the other rocket attacks, she and other residents went to the armory to protect themselves from the unexpected attack by Hamas. With a twelve-member security team, she coordinated the counterattack. The security team and Lieberman himself scattered throughout the settlement, surprising the attackers, who actually wanted to cause another massacre. In many villages, Hamas fighters executed civilians. 250 people were shot dead at a music festival in Israel.

Within four hours, defenders from Lieberman's kibbutz shot dead 25 Hamas fighters. While other villages in the vicinity suffered heavy losses, Inbal Lieberman saved her kibbutz with her quick and strategic actions. "It was amazing. My husband was part of the standby unit that worked to prevent further casualties," Ilit Paz, cultural coordinator in Nir Am, told Israel Hayom.

Paz stated that it was mainly the quick action of Lieberman that led to the fact that another massacre could be prevented. Hundreds of people were deported to Gaza from other communities. Lieberman, now 26, is said to be currently in Tel Aviv, where she was also visited by local mayor Roi Huldai. "Inbal is a hero. Her story, which is published everywhere, leaves no one indifferent," he said proudly. Other social media posts even call for Lieberman to receive the Israel Prize, the highest cultural award of the State of Israel.
