Since the demolition of the old town hall, the underpass under the B307 in Hausham is no longer barrier-free. After countless postponements, the time has now come soon.
Hausham – Hausham's mayor Jens Zangenfeind has heard enough promises and promises about the early completion of the barrier-free ramp to the underpass at the old town hall property in recent months. But time and again he was disappointed and put off until a later date. And each time, he had the thankless task of passing on the repeated postponement to the citizens. When asked again by our newspaper, Zangenfeind now leaves no doubt that he, too, is now quite. He also informed the responsible developer of the apartment buildings on the property of this, emphasizes the head of the town hall. "Such behavior is not a basis for good cooperation."
The congregation was put off again and again
A brief review: At the end of February 2022, Schlierach GmbH informed the municipality that the so-called snail, through which parents with prams, wheelchair users and cyclists can enter the underpass under the B307 from the old town hall property, would have to be closed due to the beginning of pipeline laying after the demolition of the old town hall. After completion of the work, a new ramp will be built with a maximum gradient of only six percent. A short time later, Zangenfeind informed the municipal council that, according to the developer, it should be ready in July or August.
Then came the first postponements: the beginning of the school year became the end of October, then December. All still in 2022, mind you. The fact that the ramp is still not paved in October 2023 is something Zangenfeind can no longer understand. Most recently, the municipality had been promised April, then the start of the current school year. Once again, nothing happened. This is extremely bitter, according to the mayor: "The underpass is an important connection and is also used as a way to school."
Developers: Companies have delivered poor quality
Eva-Maria Klappauf from Schlierach GmbH is also aware of this. At the request of our newspaper, it justifies the delays with a poor quality, which one of the contracted construction companies had delivered. As an expert confirmed, the necessary sealing was missing. Subsequently, a new execution was commissioned, whereby the subcontractor was now in time trouble. The result: instead of smooth asphalt, the ramp is still only paved with partially uneven concrete – and therefore not barrier-free. As much as Klappauf can understand the anger of the citizens: "We can't hand over the ramp to the municipality like this." This requires structurally flawless execution. It is now running at full speed, workers recently laid sheets with tar cardboard. However, Klappauf cannot yet set an exact completion date. However, the acceptance will soon be arranged with the municipality.
