The situation escalates at Hamburg's main train station: pro-Palestinian demonstrators encounter police forces. A journalist is injured by kicks.
Hamburg – On Friday evening, there were clashes between pro-Palestinian protesters and the police at Hamburg's main train station. Several protesters were brought to the ground by the police. Protesters waved Palestinian flags and chanted "Free Palestine" and "Long live international solidarity." To prevent more protesters from joining the march, officers cordoned off the area. During the riots, a journalist was also injured by kicks from a protester.

A previously planned demonstration entitled "Solidarity with Rojava and Palestine" at the main train station was banned. Nevertheless, the police had not ruled out spontaneous gatherings due to a call on social media. In preparation for this, the police positioned dozens of vehicles of the state and federal police around the station. Water cannons and a clearance tank were also brought into position.
A similar demonstration also led to riots in Munich.
