A 'non-venomous' animal
The owner (if any) of the animal has not yet come forward. 'In particular, a transfer certificate must be issued. Some species also require prior authorization and a certificate of maintenance capacity," says Le Parisien.
Although the animal is considered "non-venomous", this snake, given its physical characteristics, is likely to be a ball python, a species native to Africa that is commonly prized by reptile enthusiasts because, among other things, of its very low aggressiveness. Non-venomous, it is one of the so-called constrictor snakes, i.e. those that kill their prey by suffocating them before swallowing them.
Also known as a ball python, this snake, which curls up on itself when it feels threatened, can measure between 1.25 and 1.40 metres.
