(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 14 - Defence Minister Guido Crosettostressed on Saturday that the rules of war should always berespected as he visited Cephalonia for the 80th anniversary ofMassacre of the Acqui Division on the Greek island during WorldWar II.
   "There is no point in remembering the past if we do not learnfrom it," Crosetto said at a ceremony to recall the execution of5,155 Italian prisoners of war by German troops in Cephalonia inSeptember 1943.
   "History teaches us that, even in war, one can respect, or notrespect, human rules - that when the enemy surrenders onerespects them and does not kill them, that women, children,hospitals and the civilian community must be kept out.
   "We all respond together to terrorism without hesitation and wedo so by remembering that there are values even in war, evenagainst enemies". (ANSA).
