The weather in Germany remains exciting. The transition from October to November can be stormy.
Kassel - Autumn in Germany is slowly picking up speed. The sunny, almost summery weather of early October will not make a comeback - quite the opposite. "We have a tense, autumnal weather situation," says meteorologist Dominik Jung from wetter.net, explaining the latest forecasts.
Because the outlook until November 8 will be wet and stormy. Low-pressure systems not only bring large amounts of precipitation, but also increase the risk of storms. Storm and gale force winds are threatening in Germany in the coming week. "There's a lot of storm potential, we have to keep an eye on that. Something can develop, but it doesn't have to," Jung classifies the prediction.

Stormy weather in Germany - No more Golden October
It is not uncommon for the first onset of winter to occur during the transition from October to November, but winter lovers will have to wait even longer for snow. This is not due to the amount of precipitation, because it will rain heavily in the coming days, especially in the south of Germany, but to the temperatures. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the weather will remain mild until November 8. The maximum temperatures fluctuate between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius. "But there are no signs of golden October weather," says Jung.
Rather, it will be wet and cloudy. Especially in the south of the country, a lot of rain will fall until Sunday (29 November). In the Black Forest, according to the DWD, it is up to 80 liters per square meter. "The south can also use the precipitation," explains Jung. In October, it was generally too dry there, if you use the weather data since records began in 1880 for comparison. In the north, on the other hand, significantly more rain fell than average, resulting in a statistically balanced month. "It was neither too wet nor too dry," Jung concludes.

A look back at the weather in October looks completely different in terms of temperatures: With currently around 12.5 degrees Celsius on average, the month is one of the warmest since weather records began. According to current forecasts in Germany, this trend is expected to continue into November and into December. (Christian Weihrauch)
