Netanyahu's Statement/Walla Editorial Board!
On the 19th day of the war, Benjamin Netanyahu once again appeared before the nation. Again, as in his previous appearance, he did not say anything important or new. In fact, he confiscated precious screen time for no real reason and refrained, as usual, from answering journalists' questions.
Day 19 of the war - all updates
On the 19th day of the war, it can already be determined, at least temporarily, that Benjamin Netanyahu is not harming. This is not the Bibi we knew. Israel's offensive performance under his leadership so far is objectively mediocre and low in terms of the terrible massacre perpetrated by the enemy.
In the south, Hamas is far from suffering a fatal blow. Its senior figures were not eliminated and its ability to launch rockets remained. Moreover, the fact that Hamas is able, even after the air force airstrikes, to pull out specific abductees and bring them to the border indicates that Hamas' command and control system was not harmed at all. Yes, the Israeli Air Force is bringing down a lot of real estate in Gaza, but it doesn't seem to move Hamas leaders.
In the north, Israel is deterred. This is the truth and it's time to get to it. Nasrallah fires anti-tank missiles around the clock and Israel responds in a restrained and measured manner. The Israeli desire not to deteriorate into a transparent multi-front campaign, and a multi-terrorist campaign like Nasrallah understands it well.
Not offensive. Netanyahu's statement, tonight/Government Press Office, screenshot
His statement that he, too, will have to give answers, is also detached from reality. He – the prime minister – bears primary, direct and supreme responsibility for the enormous failure. How can he think that he will escape his responsibility? Where does he live?
And Netanyahu's statement that he had warned since 2014 that Hamas is ISIS is ridiculous. It was Netanyahu who chose to strengthen Hamas over the Palestinian Authority and transfer suitcases of cash to the child murderers from Gaza.

In his speech tonight, Netanyahu tried to buy public opinion with high words. For almost 30 years it has worked for him, but Bibi's detachment from the public mood does not allow him to understand that words will no longer help. The era of hesitation is over. Any result that is less than the collapse of Hamas and the return of the hostages home will be a resounding failure that Netanyahu will remember 100 years from now.
