A 75-year-old mother who lives in the northern Italian city of Pavia has won a lawsuit in court against her 40- and 42-year-old sons, demanding that they leave the house.
The ruling was confirmed by a local court clerk to CNN on Friday.
The mother called her children "parasites" in court papers and said the two men, who have jobs, had lived in the family's apartment without making any financial contributions or helping with household chores.
The woman's name has not been released.

According to local media outlet La Provincia Pavese, cited by CNN, both men hired the services of lawyers to prevent them from being taken out of the house and assured that, under the law, parents are obliged to take care of their children for as long as necessary.
One of the lawyers hired said the men had not yet decided whether they would appeal the court's decision.

"There is no section in the laws that attributes to the adult child the unconditional right to remain in the home exclusively owned by the parents, against their will and solely by virtue of the family bond," said Judge Simona Caterbi in arguing her decision.
"It does not seem justifiable considering that the two defendants are subjects over 40 years of age and that, once a certain age is over, the child can no longer expect the parents to continue with the obligation to provide maintenance beyond limits that are no longer reasonable," he stressed.
