Three people were injured in the collision of three cars on the A9 near the Garching-Süd junction.
Garching - The rear-end collision occurred at 14:30 p.m. The three injured were freed from their cars by first responders from the Garching fire brigade using hydraulic equipment. Two people were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals, a third person was flown to hospital by rescue helicopter, the fire department reports.

Due to the landing, the road in the direction of Nuremberg had to be temporarily completely closed. Later, traffic was diverted to a single lane past the accident site.
Backlog from Garching to Munich
In the evening rush hour, a traffic jam developed that lasted almost to the end of the motorway in Munich. Traffic was also jammed in the opposite direction because of onlookers, the fire department said. Around 16 p.m., the operation was over, reports the fire department.
