Slumped on a yellow sofa in an alley in the Nour Shams refugee camp, young Palestinians enjoy the warrior's rest. Along with several dozen of their comrades, on October 18 and 19, they boasted of having stood up to the Israeli army for no less than twenty-seven hours. The fierce fighting claimed the lives of 14 camp residents and a border guard, not to mention dozens of wounded... According to the IDF, the incursion was part of a large-scale raid that led to the arrest of 80 Palestinians, including 63 Hamas members, in several communities in the West Bank. For Nour Shams' fighters, it marks the gradual extension of the war launched on October 7 by Hamas.
